MCS Sponsoring the 34th Annual Santa Barbara Kite Festival
Free, family-friendly, day-long event for all ages held in celebration of Kite Month!
April is officially designated as “Kite Month” by the Santa Barbara City Council and Montessori Center School is pleased to announce its sponsorship of The 34th Annual Santa Barbara Kite Festival. The event will take place on Sunday, April 14th, at The Great Meadow – West Campus Lawn at Santa Barbara City College, from 11 AM to 5 PM. Adults and children of all ages will gather for a fun-filled family day outdoors enjoying over a dozen kite flying events and demonstrations.
Montessori Center School will sponsor the Children’s Tail Chase event, honoring all who foster children’s inner power to face life’s twists and turns with resilience and courage. Additionally, the school will host a sunscreen station and provide lawn games for attending families.
Head of School, Melanie Jacobs states, “We are proud to support such a wholesome event that brings Santa Barbara families together. Kite flying is a joyful activity regardless of age or ability. The Santa Barbara Kite Festival celebrates the ideals fostered within our school community – love of outdoors,unity and friendship.”
The festival is located on the West Campus of Santa Barbara City College, 973 Cliff Drive. Admission to the festival is free. Parking is available on both West Campus and the Main Campus. Kites, food, and beverage can be purchased at the festival.
