Montessori Reflections

Lisa Lavora - De Beule • Apr 20, 2021

The following testimonial comes from an alumni student who is currently a student at USC. He sent a note to our staff on his own accord to express gratitude for his Montessori Center School experience.

"I find myself often reflecting on my time at MCS and feeling immense gratitude for my parents’ decision to enroll me at Montessori. Each day I was met with empathy, compassion, and a focus on doing good for other people. As we have been thrown into social and political chaos over the last four years, I find myself wishing everyone had access to the same individual education and emotional care I received throughout my childhood at MCS, as I truly believe compassion will always win over hate and divisiveness.

In all facets of my life, I utilize the well-rounded teachings of Montessori - the ability to connect with nature when I’m anxious or stressed; comfortability with my own emotions and expressing my emotions while many men I meet my age struggle so deeply with this; compassion for those I can’t even imagine agreeing with on certain issues. Truthfully, I’m struggling to put into words the wholehearted importance I believe Montessori has had on my life every single day since I stepped off-campus.

My main message is to say thank you, thank you for giving me and every student you taught a beautiful foundation to walk into life. My three best friends are still from MCS and we look back fondly on the memories we had and know they would be almost impossible to replicate with anyone else."
