The 2018-19 school year is a milestone for two of our master teachers, JoAnn Serpa and Margaret McCleery Cota. JoAnn is retiring in June after 30 years of remarkable service to our school and Margaret is celebrating the incredible milestone of her 50th year with us at MCS!
To recognize this special moment, the MCS community is holding a fundraiser from May 1 – May 16, in honor of Margaret and JoAnn, to benefit The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation.
How to help:
Your contribution will benefit two major programs at The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation :
1.) Educational advocacy: Children in need of individualized academic support during treatment are provided tutoring services by accredited teachers.
2.) Emotional support: Funds raised will provide “bear” necessities to families in need such as household items (bedding, appliances, clothing) and school supplies (notebooks, folders, pencil cases, pencils, colored pencils/crayons, backpacks, wipes, infant/toddler diapers)
How to give:
Our Donation Collection Period will be from May 1 – May 16, 2019.
Monetary donations:
1.) On The Teddy Bear Cancer Foundation homepage , click “Donate Today” in upper right corner, which will take you to the donation form.
2.) Within the donation form , indicate the monetary amount you wish to contribute.
3.) Below the donation amount, you will see “Designate Gift.” Click “General Contribution.”
4.) Underneath “Designate Gift” you will see “Gift Memo.” Please reference “Montessori Center School” or indicate the teacher(s) that the donation is in honor of. (For example, “In honor of MCS teachers JoAnn Serpa and Margaret McCleery Cota”)
Product donations: MCS will be collecting new school supplies (notebooks, folders, pencil cases, pencils, colored pencils/crayons, backpacks, wipes, infant/toddler diapers) and new books for the children. Items may be dropped off in the administrative office at school.
Many thanks to all for your thoughtful participation in honor of JoAnn and Margaret!
