Camp MCS – Elementary Program

Camp MCS Elementary is a dynamic, non-academic summer program designed for curious, creative, and energetic learners. Each week offers a new theme filled with hands-on projects, collaborative challenges, games, and exploration. Our eight weeks of camp are packed with opportunities to build confidence, friendships, and unforgettable summer memories—all in a fun, supportive environment.

Week 1 (June 16 - 18) Camp closed on 6/15 for teacher prep and closed on 6/19 in observance of Juneteenth

Magic, Wizards, and Potions with Brenda

Step into a world of spells, enchantment, and imagination! Campers will craft magical creations, mix mysterious “potions,” and tackle fun wizarding challenges that spark creativity and problem-solving. With plenty of hands-on activities and imaginative play, this camp invites young wizards to unleash their magic and make a week full of memories!

Week 2 (June 22-26)

Outdoor Adventures with Andrew

Campers will embark on exciting outdoor adventures while learning practical skills like knot tying, building shelters, and working together as a team. Each day is packed with hands-on activities that foster confidence, independence, and a lasting love for the great outdoors. This camp is perfect for explorers ready to learn, play, and connect with nature!

Week 3 (June 29-July 2) Camp closed on 7/3 in observance of Independence Day

Eco-Explorers with Andrew

Campers will dive into the world of plants and nature through hands-on experiments, nature walks, and creative projects. They’ll learn how plants grow, why ecosystems matter, and how to care for the environment, all while sparking curiosity, teamwork, and a love for the natural world. This camp is perfect for young explorers ready to get their hands dirty and their minds growing!

Week 4 (July 6-10)

Bird Watching with Leane

Campers will explore the fascinating world of birds right on our campus! Using binoculars, they’ll observe different species, identify their calls, and learn about habitats and nest-building. Hands-on projects include constructing and decorating birdhouses to take home or place on campus. A special visit from an Audubon Society member will give campers expert tips on bird-watching in Santa Barbara and how to become skilled young birders. This camp combines observation, creativity, and outdoor exploration for a truly memorable experience!

Week 5 (July 13-17)

Steam: Makers Lab with Brenda

Innovation takes center stage! Campers will dive into hands-on STEAM projects, designing, building, and experimenting to spark curiosity and problem-solving skills. Through activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math, campers will explore new ideas, collaborate with friends, and unleash their creativity in a fun, inspiring makers’ lab.

Cottage Arts & Crafts with Brenda

Slow down, get inspired, and let creativity bloom! Campers will enjoy painting, crafting, and DIY projects inspired by cozy cottage charm. With hands-on activities that celebrate artistic expression, nature, and imagination, this camp offers a relaxing and fun space for young artists to create, explore, and make beautiful memories.

Spy Academy with Brenda

Calling all secret agents! Campers will put their detective skills to the test through code-breaking, problem-solving, and stealthy challenges. Each day brings new missions and mysteries to solve, encouraging teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity in a week full of action-packed fun.

Jewelry Making: Fabulous Fiber Arts with Jen C.

Spark creativity and explore texture, color, and design at Jewelry Making: Fabulous Fiber Arts! Campers will craft one-of-a-kind jewelry using soft roving, wool, and wire, creating vibrant felted beads and unique wearable art. Each project encourages imagination, fine motor skills, and self-expression, making this a fun, hands-on camp for budding designers.
